My name is Dr. Santu — a mum and medicinal chemist. In 2017, I began formulating hair products for friends, not as a business, but as an expression of quiet, considered care.

In 2019, my son Zion was born with severe eczema. Doctors could not explain it. As both a scientist and a mother, I could not simply accept that. I began formulating for him gently and patiently, and over time, his skin began to heal.

Soon after, my daughter Zoe underwent chemotherapy, leaving her skin extremely fragile. Her hospital doctors trusted the balm I created for her melanin-rich skin — and were surprised by how well she responded.

These experiences revealed what much of the skincare industry had overlooked: melanin-rich skin has distinct biological needs. Kiese was born from that insight — and from my commitment to care grounded in science, listening and trust.
